Holmes triples the first

08/10/2008 - Bloomfield Hills Township, MI (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - J.B. Holmes triple-bogeyed the first hole of the final round Sunday and fell five shots behind leader Ben Curtis.

Holmes, who trailed Curtis by a stroke on the tee, drove into the trees, then elected to try and hit a fairway-metal back into the fairway. The decision back-fired when his ball hit a tree and moved about five feet under another tree.

Holmes took an unplayable lie and dropped. Now hitting his fourth, Holmes just pitched back into the short grass. He struck another tree, but did find the fairway.

His fifth came up 30 feet short of the stick. Curtis, waiting for quite a while as Holmes made a mess of the hole, knocked his second to seven feet.

Holmes ran his double-bogey putt almost four feet past the hole. Curtis drained his birdie putt and Holmes tapped in for a triple-bogey seven.

Curtis is three ahead of Sergio Garcia, Charlie Wi and Henrik Stenson, who bogeyed No. 1. Holmes is five back with, among others, Phil Mickelson.

Kurt Warner to start, Matt Leinart to watch

Despite the debate that's swirling , Kurt Warner will remain the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, coach Dennis Green said today. The Arizona Cardinals are the +7 point underdog at online sportsbook MySportsbook.com for this Sunday's game.

Green's comment came in a statement released by the team following an ESPN report that Green decided that rookie Matt Leinart would replace Warner as starter for Sunday's game at Atlanta.

"Generally talking about the starting lineup is not something we do," Green told the AP. "However, given the speculation that was out there we want to make it clear. We're disappointed after last week, but we still expect to be a playoff football team and we fully expect Kurt Warner to be the quarterback that leads us. That has not changed."
